They received good care from their mother although her work and health are not stable. Recently, Lan, Huong’s twin sister got tuberculosis of hip and had to stay in hospital for one month. She became weak and lost a considerable amount of weight. After returning from the hospital, it was necessary to stay at home for a week to recover to be able to go to the school. Lan’s mother, Ms Phuong, had to take care of her during this time, and consequently lost her employment. In addition to this, Ms Phuong now has to care for her aging father who has been ill. At the time of writing, the family barely had enough money to buy the basic essential food items. Ms Phuong thought of letting her daughter Lan, drop out of school. Lan had lost nearly two months of valuable education. Fortunately, she has been able to return to school, and is trying hard to catch up to her twin sister, Huong.
