Thy live with her parents and older sister in a rental apartment in Danang city (they don’t have a house). Thy is 7 years old and currently in 2nd grade at a local primary school. Her father, who is living with HIV, is a mechanic. Five years ago, he had an industrial accident that led to the discovery of his HIV infection. At this time, Thy is 2 years old, and her sister was in the 1st grade. They depend on their father to provide for them. He needs to maintain treatment so he can continue to work.
Thy’s mother is currently unemployed, working whenever it is possible. Fortunately, both Thy and her mother are HIV-negative.
