The Vietnam Health Improvement Project has been working for more than 10 years and has firsthand experience of the culture, systems, and methods of implementing change. Our projects succeed because of our local expertise and the dedication of our skilled team.
NCD ManagementDiabetes and hypertension continue to be an ongoing problem in Vietnam. With proper diagnosis and treatment, these diseases can be controlled. Our staff, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), developed a training protocol for proper treatment and medication. This protocol is now being taught to local health care providers.

Comprehensive Rehabilitation for Leprosy-Related DisabilitiesFrom April 2020 to October 2021, the Research Center for Inclusion (RCI), in collaboration with VNHIP and local health authorities, implemented a project to improve the health, mobility, and social inclusion of people affected by leprosy-related disabilities in Da Nang.
The project provided medical training for healthcare workers, rehabilitation aids, social support, and policy advocacy to enhance the quality of life for affected individuals. Despite challenges posed by COVID-19, the initiative was able to successfully reach 596 people, further strengthening healthcare services and fostering greater community inclusion. |
Life-Saving Heart SurgeriesHeart valve disease and congenital heart disease are among the most common diagnoses in Vietnam, yet life-saving surgery remains out of reach for many due to high costs ranging from $2,000 to $5,000. While insurance may cover 30-50%, most patients still struggle to afford the remaining expenses.
Through the Vietnam Health Improvement Project (VNHIP), we assess patients' financial situations, help them secure funding, and bridge the financial gap to ensure they receive the surgery they need. Additionally, we provide post-operative follow-up to support their recovery. |
