A Story of Strength and Friendship: Trang’s Journey
Trang is taken to the schoolyard by her friends during break time.
Le Thi My Trang was born in 2007 and lives with her family in Ha Dua Block, Dien Ngoc Ward, Dien Ban Town. Like any other child, she was born with normal physical development. However, at the age of two, she suffered from a high fever and was diagnosed with encephalitis, which led to paralysis on one side of her body. Since then, she has been unable to walk on her own, relying entirely on the support of adults, friends, and relatives for daily activities.
In 2012, her family enrolled her at the Kianh Center in Dien Nam Dong for early education. She studied there until 2015, when she was transferred to Hoang Sa Inter-level School to complete 1st and 2nd grade. She later continued her education at Le Hong Phong Primary School and is currently a fourth-grade student in class 4C.
Despite her physical challenges, Trang is a bright, well-mannered, and hardworking student who gets along well with her classmates. She has successfully absorbed most of the fourth-grade curriculum. However, her condition makes it difficult for her to participate in subjects such as Physical Education, Information Technology, and Engineering, as well as in other extracurricular activities. Even routine tasks, such as using the toilet, require assistance from teachers. Yet, with the encouragement and support of her teachers and friends, Trang never gives up and continues to work hard in her studies.

Trang was able to join the picnic with her friends.
Two of her closest friends, Nhung and Yen, have been by her side, offering constant support both in schoolwork and daily activities. Recently, thanks to VNHIP's support, Trang received a wheelchair, and a ramp at her school was repaired, which made entering school more accessible. She now often participates in the weekly flag-raising ceremony with her classmates and moves more easily between classrooms, including the IT room.
During break time, instead of sitting alone in class, Trang is now wheeled around the schoolyard by Nhung and Yen, allowing her to interact and play with other friends. She feels much happier and more included in school activities. With the ongoing support from her teachers, friends, and VNHIP, Trang is gaining more confidence and motivation every day, overcoming obstacles to excel in both her studies and her life.
