Help Giang Build a Brighter Future
This photo has been 'cartoonized' to protect her identity.
Giang is a 15-year-old girl in the 10th grade. She lives in a small, overcrowded house with her mother, who is HIV positive, alongside her paternal grandparents and two of her uncle's families. Although Giang herself is HIV-negative, her mother’s health is a constant concern.
To provide for her daughter, Giang’s mother works in an industrial zone in Da Nang City. Despite being tired often, she is still committed to her HIV treatment. Giang’s father has been working in Southern Vietnam, but for a long time, he has neither contacted his family nor supported them financially. Despite these hardships, Giang is surrounded by an extended family, with her grandparents stepping in to take care of her while her mother is at work.
Transportation poses another challenge. Without a motorbike, Giang’s mother commutes 40 minutes each way by bicycle. If her bicycle breaks down, she has to rely on colleagues' kindness to get to work. Yet she continues to work tirelessly to afford nutritious food and cover her family's basic needs. Like any growing child, Giang needs proper nutrition to stay healthy, learn, and thrive.
Your support can help Giang have a better life, ensuring she has the opportunities and resources to pursue her dreams.
