Life-Saving Heart Surgeries for Patients in Need
Heart valve disease and congenital heart disease are among the most common diagnoses in Vietnam, yet life-saving surgery remains out of reach for many due to high costs ranging from $2,000 to $5,000. While insurance may cover 30-50%, most patients still struggle to afford the remaining expenses.
Through the Viet Nam Health Improvement Project (VNHIP), we assess patients' financial situations, help them secure funding, and bridge the financial gap to ensure they receive the surgery they need. Additionally, we provide post-operative follow-up to support their recovery. Since 2012, with funding from the Griffin Foundation, we have successfully supported over 120 patients aged 19-45 years to undergo heart surgery. Thanks to this initiative, all patients have recovered and returned to their work, studies, and daily lives—restoring both health and hope. |
